When: Wednesday, October 4th, 6:30 pm. Only on Zoom.

At this meeting,  Sunnyvale School District Board President Isabel Jubes Flamerich will update us on the issues our unhoused school children are experiencing and how we can improve their living conditions. She will discuss the on-site services provided to unhoused families.

During the September 19th Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors meeting, the services provided by the Hamlin Court Shelter were discussed and we will hear the outcome of this discussion.    It has come to our attention that some of our non English speaking community members feel their voices are not heard when they express their concerns about their child’s experiences in Sunnyvale schools.  We will ask Isabel to talk about the programs in place to insure that parents’ concerns are addressed.

Sunnyvale Climate Action Plan

As we experience the affects of climate change it is imperative that we know how, as individuals, we can change our lifestyle to mitigate green house gas emissions that affect our health and the health of our planet.

Chuck Fraleigh, Livable Sunnyvale Vice Chair will share data from the City’s Climate Action Playbook (CAP) to prepare us for an upcoming presentation by City Staff regarding the goals established in the CAP, achievement of these goals and the new Game Plan 2028.
