Livable Sunnyvale supports the BPAC recommendations for the Active Transportation Plan

The Active Transportation Plan (ATP), which we’ve spent the last six months or so engaging with, goes to Council Tuesday, Aug 25.
This month, both Livable Sunnyvale and the Democratic Club of Sunnyvale voted to support the BPAC’s proposed modifications to the ATP. While staff has agreed to many BPAC suggestions, they have recommended against adopting the lightweight change process.
This is a serious problem. Given the inadequate public outreach for the ATP and the rapidly changing conditions we are dealing with, there needs to be a periodic mechanism for the public to propose changes to the ATP going forward. A 10-year plan with no clear modification process simply doesn’t make sense.
We urge Livable Sunnyvale members to call in Tuesday night, August 25th at 7 and speak in favor of the BPAC’s proposed modifications to the ATP, especially the lightweight change process
The meeting will be starting at 7pm on Zoom: https://sunnyvale-ca-gov.zoom.us/j/96111580540. You can find various documents here: https://sunnyvaleca.legistar.com/LegislationDetail.aspx?ID=4620080&GUID=E036620A-6C61-4DF2-AE65-E38849374246&Options=&Search=
