Did you hear the good news? Sunnyvale was awarded Prohousing Designation from California Governor Newsom and the Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD). This recognizes our City’s efforts to implement policies that go above and beyond state housing law to facilitate housing production. One criteria cited was the six 100% affordable housing developments mentioned below.
| Project Name | Status | Units | |
| Edwina Benner Plaza | Completed (2019) | 66 | |
| Meridian / Block 15 | Completed (2024) | 90 | |
| Ira D. Hall Square | Under construction | 176 | |
| 1171 Sonora Court | Planning | 172 | |
| 295 S. Mathilda Ave. | Predevelopment | 122 | |
| Orchard Gardens | Approved | 123 |
That’s about 749 units since 2019 either completed or in development.
On Tuesday, at 7P there is a study session at City Council to review the 295 S. Mathilda Avenue project by MidPen Housing, let’s show our support for this much needed housing project!
